Unlike vertically-mounted lighting sources on traditional poles, SIDEis distributes light LATERALLY – across a road surface. This avoids glare for drivers and eliminates wasted energy on illuminating large areas outside the road surface.

Measuring 10cm x 7cm and just 300g – we’re disrupting old solutions in an effort to remove the obstrusive poles with an ultra compact design that’s smaller than most smartphones. Constructed using sustainable materials, its tough design is powerful enough to illuminate roadways, tunnels and bridges. Easy accessibility for maintenance and replacement – mounted just 840mm off the ground.

SIDEis – Innovation designed
for a new driving experience.

Bad weather is a huge concern regarding the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Disabling glare and light scattering restrict our ability to see clearly, which increases the likelihood of accidents to happen in certain areas.
To exceed safety standards, the SIDEis all-in-one luminaire practically eliminates wasted light and driver glare, including an adaptable 20° tilt-mounting angle and 50,000 hourlife span – less than a meter above the ground.

Weatherproof

A robust IP66 design, SIDEis maintains lane and perimeter visibility where poor light conditions (fog, mist, rain…) can impair a driver’s ability to safely observe road traffic and pedestrians.

Optical Guide

Thanks to an optical guide, it manages to push each single photon of light into currently unexplored corners in street lighting, with a grazing light projection in a proportion 30 times wider than a normal street photometry.

Conflict Zone Visibility

With better visibility at junctions and road changes – including bridges, accidents are significantly reduced where drivers prepare for upcoming obstacles.

Drive Alert

For upcoming accidents and warnings of poor visibility or unexpected traffic blocks, SIDEis can be remotely configured to help drivers prepare themselves and others.

Tunable Photometry

A unique combination of reflection and refraction, the optics can adapt for customized, uniform light distribution across a road surface, simply by remote control.

Reduced Light Spill

Traditional 10m street lamps emit significant amounts of light across surrounding areas, away from the road. SIDEis efficiently light the road surface, without wasted light spill to enhance a driver’s lane and perimeter visibility.

KEY CHALLENGES WE’VE OVERCOME

SAFETY – the innovative low-mounted design not only removes collision obstacles, but distributes the light across the road evenly, without compromising efficiency. Its height removes direct driver glare and highlights the curve, rise and fall of the road. This also improves pedestrian safety – to be seen more clearly by drivers.

COST – using monumentally less raw materials, the innovative SIDEis lamps are cheaper to purchase, install, maintain and run – that includes a remarkable 13W energy
consumption per luminaire. While more lamps are needed, the long-term savings are considerably more.

MAINTENANCE – with easy accessibility and installation for contractors, positioning adjustments, additional installations or repairs can take place without expensive hire equipment used to access traditional 10m+ street lighting lamps.

VANDALISM – a key concern for any roadway agency, SIDEis lamps are strategically hidden out of view and placed in areas where people are not walking past – like motorway junctions, bridges, tunnels and busy conflict zones.

SUSTAINABILITY – long lasting, recyclable materials are used to build the luminaire, this reduces its impact on the environment with eco-friendly packaging. Combined with ultra-low energy consumption, the SIDEis street light was designed for the future of roadway tunnel and urban lighting.
